Darlene Sue Marquardt
Professional Summary:
"To highlight my work experience: I currently teach elementary
(K-6) school music and technology (4-6). I am also the administrator
of my school's 'after school' program. In the recent past I
have taught high school business classes full-time and I am
currently an officer in my professional association, the Oregon
Business Education Association and am in line to be the organization
president in 2011. . I have also taught high school choir and
upper elementary school and junior high band. I have taught
in both public and private schools. For five years (1990-1995)
I was co-administrator of a private Christian school. For more
than ten years I was also the co-owner of a preschool-kindergarten.
I am also currently on my church's worship team, as keyboard/pianist.
And serve on the Worship Board committee.
Darlene is a Gresham Union High School Graduate
and earned her B.A. Degree in Music Education from Western Oregon
University (O.C.E.) and her Masters in Education with a minor
in Music from Oregon State University She earned a Masters in
Business Administration from National University. Her teaching
endorsements are Standard Music PreK-12, Basic Business 5-12
and CTE (Career Technical Education) 9-12.
Darlene has been active on the world wide web
since the mid nineties and has been creating and designing web
pages since then. She and her husband, Jim, run a small mom-pop
web design business. Jim offers advise and sells computers in
his spare time and refers web business to Darlene. She has designed
and maintains sites for several non-profits and for-profit businesses
as well as for her church,

In the 1999-2000 school year she taught music,
choir and band at Ione. Choir at Heppner High and 1st and 3rd
grade music at Heppner Elementary. From 2000 to 2003 she taught
full time at Ione, teaching Business, technology and Music classes.
She was also FBLA and National Honor Society Advisor. From 2003
to 2008, she taught Business/CTE and yearbook classes full time
at Heppner High School. She was also the FBLA advisor and a
class advisor. In the 2008-2009, she taught Choir and Business
at Irrigon High School, 5th and 6th Grade Band at Irrigon Elementary
School and K-4 General Music and Marimba at A.C.Houghton Elementary
School. This year she is teaching at the two elementary schools
- teaching general music, marimba band and technology as well
as the after-school program.
Awards:
Darlene was the recipient of the 2006 Best
Newsletter Award for the Oregon Business and Management Educators
and just recently was awarded a $3000 2009 MUSAK Heart and Soul
Foundation grant for her classroom at Irrigon Elementary
School.
Darlene has also done some composing and enjoys being creative. |
